After being admitted at 3:00am, Jessie was finally ready to get the process of pushing out our daughter around 3pm.

I was really hoping I would hang out way up by her shoulders during the labor. Did not work out my way. I needed to hold her right leg while she pushed during her contractions.

So at about 3pm she started to push every time she had a contraction. By about 5pm the doctor could start to see the baby’s head. I thought it was a process that just included several pushes and then in one push the baby came out all at the same time. It was more of a slowly getting more and more of her head to pop out. Although I tried my best to not look down there, I did look at one point and see quite a bit of her head sticking out. It was crazy. Then after about 4 more pushes, out she came. The head piped out and the doctor pulled her the rest of the way out and plopped her right on Jessie. At first Zorel was purple, but then she turned red and then a normal shade.

I will admit, I got a little teary eyed when it really settled in that this is my daughter, Zorel Lynn Bandini. Born June 30th 2017 at 5:39pm. 7 lbs 14 oz and 22 inches long.

Let the journey begin.
