So the story of a Vietnamese-Australian man named Puch Dat Bich (Actually pronounced Phoo Da Bic) has been passed around social media recently. The man is upset because he has been banned from Facebook several times for violating their terms of service. Can you guess what the violation is? Facebook requires all users to use there real name in an attempt to make the user more accountable for what they say and post. So if someone report a profile that they think is using a fake name, Facebook will take a look at it and determine if that’s a real name or not. Well it seems Mr. Bich has had his account reported several time under the suspicion that he is using a fake name.

The problem is not an isolated event. There are several native Americans like Shane Creepingbear that have experienced this. Even a woman with the first name Isis has had several issues with the policy. So in order to prove that Puch was not making up this name he posted a picture of his passport to show that is his real name. The picture has been shared more than 100,000 times.

In his Facebook post he says he is offended that Facebook dose not believe that is is real name. That part however seems strange to me. I mean this cant be the first time he has been given a hard time for his name so it should be no surprise when he has to go through a hassle to use his real name on Facebook. So what do you think. Is his real name Phuc Dat Bich, or has he managed to make a fake passport for the sole purpose of trolling the internet?

“I find it highly irritating the fact that nobody seems to believe me when I say that my full legal name is how you see it. I’ve been accused of using a false and misleading name of which I find very offensive. Is it because I’m Asian? Is it?
Having my fb shut down multiple times and forced to change my name to my “real” name, so just to put it out there. My name. ”

Yours sincerely,
Phuc Dat Bich

UPDATE:

Turned out to be false. Phuc Dat Bich was not actually his real name. The man admitted that it was a hoax and said “Facebook needs to understand that it is utterly impossible to legitimize a place where there will always be pranksters and tricksters.” The man claimed his real name is Tin Le yet other sources say his real name is Thien Nguyen. This guy really dose not want to use his real name apparently.
