How long were you in the Army?
I was in the Army for a little more than 10 years. While I’m no longer in the Army, I still work with soldier during military exercises as a trainer on Fort Carson, CO.
What was your MOS/ job in the Army?
I was an 88M (Motor Transportation Operator or Truck Driver). While driving large truck was my main job I often handled ammunition for various training and deployments. My last position was as the ammunition NCO in charge for the entire squadron (4-10 CAV, 4ID).
Did you ever deploy to a combat zone?
I deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. My first deployment was from 2005 – 2006 with the 3rd ACR to Tal Afar, Iraq. My second deployment was a 15 month deployment (2007 – 2009) with 4-10 CAV, 4ID to Baghdad, Iraq.
Where were you stationed?
I was stationed at Fort Riley, KS with 1-13AR, the JSA in Korea and then Fort Carson, CO where I was with the 3rd ACR and 4ID.
What was your rank when you got out of the Army?
I got out of the Army as an E-5/ Sergeant. I was actually promotable. I had already passed the E-6 board and attended the NCO academy that was known as BNOC at that time (Now called ALC). I just did not have enough points to promote as the points at that time for my MOS were maxed out at 798 and I did not have enough.
